BUSY’s new Connect to Work partnership in Birmingham

The BUSY Group’s recently announced a collaboration with Better Pathways in Birmingham reflecting our ongoing commitment to working alongside like-minded organisations to change lives, strengthen communities and create brighter futures.

This not-for-profit consortium also includes FareShare Midlands, the Disability Resource Centre and Colebridge Trust, bringing together a strong network of specialist partners with a shared purpose. Through this partnership, The BUSY Group contributes significant expertise in project management, quality, compliance and performance assurance to help deliver maximum impact through the Government’s Connect to Work programme across England’s second city.

As a leading not-for-profit organisation, The BUSY Group has a strong track record of working in partnership to deliver high-quality services across employment, skills, education and justice. These are sectors where the people we support often face diverse needs and complex challenges, and where the best outcomes are often achieved through collaboration. By working with trusted partners who share common values and a commitment to learning from one another, we can deliver more connected, responsive and effective support.

The BUSY Group’s growth, first in Australia and now internationally, has been built on meaningful partnerships. In Australia, our collaborative approach with other not-for-profit organisations supports delivery across prisons, training centres, schools and communities. In the UK, our work in alternative education has also been shaped by innovative partnerships with organisations such as Sporting Wallsend, Cardiff City Football Club Community Foundation and a range of local specialists.

As our presence continues to grow in the UK, The BUSY Group is well placed to lead and support local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) consortia as a prime not-for-profit provider. This includes providing robust contract and performance management, risk sharing, quality assurance, compliance, data oversight and financial management, creating the conditions for partner organisations to focus on what they do best and deliver meaningful outcomes within a values-led consortium.

In Birmingham, The BUSY Group and its partners will work together to provide a connected support offer for people who want to work but face barriers to employment. These barriers may include physical or learning disabilities, long-term health conditions, neurodiverse conditions and mental health needs. By combining the strengths of each organisation, the partnership will deliver a broad and complementary mix of sector-based training, digital inclusion support, community connections, supported progression into jobs, and in-work support once participants enter employment.

Importantly, the partnership will also contribute to wider goals across the city, including improving wellbeing and resilience among residents and supporting inclusive economic growth in the region.

The BUSY Group remains committed to investing in flexible, trusting partnerships that create real opportunities and lasting impact. Organisations interested in exploring partnership opportunities with The BUSY Group are encouraged to contact our dedicated Partnerships Team at partnerships@thebusygroup.org.uk.
