The ability to develop a strong business to business offer is a crucial measure of both the quality of an organisation’s product and its robust potential to grow. The occupational health services delivered by The BUSY Group demonstrate this maxim to the full with commercial health service sales growing by 50 percent in the last full year, now offering our services to over 130 businesses across the UK.
The BUSY Group’s business to business operation grew naturally out of the successful delivery of our Access to Work contracts from 2018 onwards. The help provided by our specialist health company, Health 2 Employment (H2E), to help companies meet the needs of specific employees led naturally to conversations about how the wider occupational health provision for a company’s workforce might be improved. At the same time, the work of OH One, the newly created commercial arm for our health services with its own dedicated sales force, has seen our team of health professionals swell to over forty in order to meet the rising demand.
Over seven years of growth, it’s also become clear that our occupational health offer is distinct to that of many of our competitors.
Firstly, a focus on quality means we aim to produce tailored solutions for the specific occupational health challenges faced by each company. This emphasis on quality includes capping the daily number of on-site visits we ask clinicians to schedule and making sure our clinicians have more time than the industry average to produce their reports. It’s backed up by a level of customer service that earns us an average customer service satisfaction rating of 9.5 out of 10, an approach that is explicitly designed to build long-term commercial relationships with the companies we work with.
Secondly, our strategy of relationship-building sees our senior clinicians engage directly with companies both as part of contract negotiations and then as part of contract reviews, meaning companies have the reassurance of always talking directly to a health professional about their health-related services. Our approach to relationship-building also maintains a focus on in-depth reporting (whether our report deals with absence management, new starter reviews or health surveillance), as well as actively engaging with companies after a report is submitted to help companies build on the intelligence and recommendations it contains.
Finally, as our business to business portfolio has grown, we’ve come to see that our business philosophy is different to many of our rivals. That’s because our long experience of working in the welfare-to-work sector means we recognise the importance of keeping employees in work wherever possible and finding the solutions that can make this happen. It’s an approach that makes sense to everyone, not least because of the cost savings and increased efficiencies that can result from companies being helped to retain the people with talent they have already recruited, trained and integrated.
Under the stewardship of The BUSY Group, this difference in H2E’s approach to delivering occupational health is now underpinned by our legal registration as a Community Interest Company, providing confirmation to the organisations we contract with that our profits are all reinvested back into the company to help maintain the quality of our services, support our staff and drive the innovation that will ensure our business to business growth continues long into the future.
