Our Impact

Our Impact in the United Kingdom

BUSY exists to create unbounded possibilities through skills, education and employability pathways that help people learn, work and progress. In the United Kingdom, we bring this purpose to life by integrating employability, health and wellbeing, and occupational health support to help people rebuild their futures and strengthen communities.

Across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, BUSY delivers services through Case UK, Health2Employment and OH One. Our approach combines peer-led employability, rapid clinical care and workplace guidance so people can stay in work, return to work and move forward with confidence.

We focus on communities where demand for health and employment support is high, providing timely interventions in occupational health, physiotherapy and mental health. This helps people access the right support at the right moment, reduces avoidable time out of work and eases pressure on the public health system.

Many of the people we support face complex, overlapping barriers such as mental health concerns, caring responsibilities, housing insecurity or limited work experience. Our services are designed to meet these needs through tailored, wraparound support that helps participants stabilise their circumstances, build capability, improve wellbeing and stay connected to work.

We also work closely with employers to strengthen workplace capability and retention. By identifying issues early and supporting workplace wellbeing, we help organisations respond effectively when health begins to affect performance and support longer-term participation in work.

Our Impact

BUSY’s journey began in Australia, from a grassroots youth focused not-for-profit nearly 50 years ago to a leader in education, skills and employment – a testament to our unwavering commitment to creating more possibility and opportunity. In the UK, The BUSY Group includes Case UK and Health2Employment.

We believe that connecting people with education, skills and meaningful employment brings real change and opportunity, ultimately improving people’s lives trajectory, creates stronger workforces and more vibrant communities.

In the UK, the BUSY Group deliver several programmes.
Our community impact includes:

Support for 1300 participants to get ready for work and move into education, volunteering or the workforce.
Integration of Occupational Health to enhance job outcomes for long term unemployed individuals and achieved 96% referral to completion rates for Occupational Health services.
40% of individuals received an Occupational Health report and action plan from our trained experts and progressed into employment within 6 months.
At an average of 53 days follow up, 82% of long-term unemployed individuals that had an Occupational Health Assessment improved in one or more of these three dimensions: Life, Health & Work.

The BUSY Group positively impacts Australian communities and in 2023:

85% of our BUSY School graduates progressed to further education, vocational training or employment
We placed 25,000 people into Apprenticeship pathways to support industry skills and successful career pathways.
We worked across 150 communities through 32 government contracts to support employment, education and training.
We invested back over £5.1 Million into the communities we worked in.

That’s why we’ve recently been chosen to deliver the largest centralized employability, apprenticeship, and veteran transition services across Australia.
